1099 Work-at-Home Mom Social Media Tools Resource Page
I get asked often about what I use to run my business, and it's a very good question! In fact, I often think that the right tools are exactly what separate the more successful work-at-home moms (and dads) from the rest. Take a look at what I use in my daily life as a freelance writer, blogger, social media manager, and virtual assistant.
Social Media
Blogging: I use the Google hosted Blogger platform (yes, it still works!), and a custom domain from GoDaddy.com. I love that my blog is integrated with the latest and greatest Google-supported tools, like YouTube and Google +Scheduling: For scheduling social media shares and tracking, I can't say enough good things about Shareist. (You can read my first review here.)
Twitter: I'm a big fan of Manage Flitter for handling Twitter, including cleanup of follows, automated following, bulk responses, and reporting.
Tailwind: For scheduling Pinterest Pins to my boards and group boards, nothing is easier than Tailwind. I also love their analytics!
Graphics: To make social media memes and Pinterest pins with text, I use the free version of Canva (also available in the Tailwind App) and the Premium membership to PicMonkey. Both look a bit different and serve a bit different purpose.
Stock Photos: I am using a combination of paid packages from Creative Market, Graphic Stock, and Deposit Photo for all my stock photography needs. I buy big packages on special to save money. (Be sure to check out this amazing list of FREE stock photos, first!)
Webhosting and Domains: I have been using GoDaddy for over 8 years. They host my blogger blogs domain names and email domains.
Custom Email: I have a custom .com email with Gmail.com for all of my freelancers, as well as myself.
Website creation and hosting: WIX is what I use to create beautiful sites for my parent company.
Heatmaps/Landing Pages/Subscriber Pop-ups: SumoMe has a suite of products, and many are free for the first so many uses a month. Upgrading to custom themes or getting higher page counts is usually an affordable extra $10-20 a month for each feature. Plus, it's super easy to install across all of your websites.
